About
Public property data, made readable.
PropertyKete is a New Zealand property intelligence platform. We pull together official, open, and licensed datasets — from LINZ, GNS Science, Stats NZ, councils, the Ministry of Education, MBIE, and OpenStreetMap — and present what they say about a property in plain English, with the source visible on every finding.
What guides the build
- Missing data is missing, not safe.If a dataset doesn’t cover your address, the report says so. We never silently treat a coverage gap as a clean result.
- Source on every finding. Each card cites the dataset, the owner, and the refresh date so you can trace any number back to its origin.
- Scores are explainable. Every score carries a direction label (higher = more risk or higher = better) and the methodology version that produced it. Reports are reproducible.
- No overclaiming. We say what the data shows. We don’t imply a property is safe, insurable, mortgageable, or a good investment — only a qualified professional reviewing your specific situation can do that.
What PropertyKete is not
PropertyKete is for information only. It is not a LIM, registered valuation, legal advice, engineering report, building inspection, insurance assessment, or planning approval. Verify material matters with qualified professionals before making any property decision.
Coverage at launch
Nationwide datasets — addresses, parcels, buildings, active faults, school directory, transport stops — cover all of New Zealand. Council-licensed datasets like hazard maps and district plans launch in Auckland, with Wellington and Christchurch following once licences are confirmed.
